About the event
Have you been wondering how to get started with native planting in your garden? Creating an environment that supports the biodiversity of native butterflies, birds, bees, and other species is an important consideration for all gardeners, no matter the size of your space. Using native species creates as beautiful a garden as using non-natives, and it's easier than you think!
This workshop will cover where to start and how to build on your success as you begin - or continue - to include native plants in your garden. We will provide examples of plants that thrive in the Vermont climate and discuss the importance of this practice.
This workshop is presented by Christopher LaRoche and Jocelyn Demuth, proprietors of the native plant nursery, Checkerspot Farm in Colraine MA. www.checkerspotfarm.com
Admission is free. Donations to support the Marlboro Town Library are gratefully accepted.
