MCC Coordinator –Part Time Position

The Coordinator will be responsible with the MCC board for creating a warm and welcoming experience for all, while organizing all aspects of the diverse use of the Marlboro Community Center (MCC). The job entails creating systems to accurately and efficiently complete the required duties.

Duties include:

Public Relations and Outreach

  • Represent the Community Center to all residents and users to build relationships

  • Actively elicit ideas for programs and activities to bring to the Board

  • Create and maintain a calendar of events and post on town and Alliance websites, social media, and on the physical sign outside the MCC

  • Handle all external communications such as checking and maintaining email account and sending weekly newsletter 

Program Development and Coordination

  • Assist in developing activities for the Center

  • Oversee opening and closing facilities safely (locked, heat down, etc.) as needed for activities.

  • Prepare monthly activity reports for the Board, including participation & use.

  • Attend monthly MCC Board meetings 

  • Be aware of communications between the MCC Board and the Meeting House Board, as well as accompany a Board Rep to an occasional Meeting House Board meeting

  • Work with the Treasurer to manage income and expenses for the day to day use of the MCC

Building Management

  • Oversee the upkeep, cleanliness, and repair of the Center in coordination with the MCC Board, professional services and volunteers.

  • Manage cafe operation in collaboration volunteers.

  • Oversee snow and ice removal from steps and driveway with MCC Board

All other reasonable duties, as assigned by the MCC Board

Skills required:

  • Ability to work both within a team and in a self-directed manner

  • Available to work Saturdays

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with all people

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Expertise with technology, including websites, social media, google docs, excel, “Mail Chimp, etc.

  • Experience with community building helpful

  • Flexibility and Sense of Humor


Position is part time, up to 15 hours/week. Compensation is $18 with an increase to $20 after 3 month trial period.
