Community Center Coordinator

 

Job Description:  

The Coordinator will be responsible for working with the Marlboro Community Center(MCC) board and committees to create and maintain a warm and welcoming experience for all, while organizing all aspects of the diverse use of the Marlboro Community Center. The ideal candidate would do:

​

Public Relations and Outreach

  • Engage visitors, and help create ideas for activity

  • Maintain and post a calendar of events 

  • Checking and maintaining email account and sending weekly newsletter 

  • Work occasional Saturdays

 

Program Development and Coordination

  • Assist in developing, advertising, and executing activities for the MCC. 

  • Oversee opening and closing facilities safely as needed for activities, in coordination with the Café Committee and users

  • Prepare monthly activity reports for the Board, including expenditures and income.

  • Attend MCC Board meetings as needed

 

Building Management

  • Oversee the upkeep of the Center in coordination with the MCC Board, professional services, and volunteers, (sometimes you may have to shovel)

  • Keeping kitchen clean

 

All other reasonable duties, as assigned by the MCC Board


 

Skills required:

  • Ability to work both within a team and in a self-directed manner

 

Skills appreciated:

  • Good at organizing, involving and training volunteers 

  • Expertise with technology, including websites, social media, google docs, excel, “Mail Chimp, etc.

  • Cooking/baking

Hours/Compensation:

Position is part time, could be as few as 10 and up to 15 hours/week to start with the hope of increasing to 20. Hours can be split between remote work and on site duties and can be flexible. Hours can also be shared with another person. Compensation is $18.75 with an increase to $20.00 after a 3 month trial period.

 

Reports To:

  • Ultimately the MCC Board, but will communicate and work closely with designated committee representatives
